About me
Ava J. Holmes is a cacao educator, storyteller, and co-founder of Women of Cacao, a global community connecting the worlds of cacao, chocolate, wellness, science, and culture.
Her work explores cacao as a lens through which to understand ecology, cultural history, sensuality, and human connection. Drawing from years of research, travel, and hands-on experience in cacao-growing regions of Peru, Ava bridges ancient traditions with modern science through immersive workshops, lectures, tastings, writing, and multimedia storytelling.
She is currently developing a book and educational media projects focused on the myth, history, science, and magic of cacao, with a particular emphasis on women’s roles in the evolution of chocolate culture. Her work blends rigorous research with poetic narrative, helping audiences reconnect to the deeper human story behind one of the world’s most beloved foods.
