Have you been taught that kegels are the best way to create a strong pelvic floor? In this pelvic floor workshop we will challenge the "just do kegels" mindset. We will explore the pelvic floor as part of a dynamic system that works with our diaphragm and deep abdominals during breathing and full body, functional movement. We will begin with a Franklin Method warmup and then map out the bony landmarks of the pelvic floor while using imagery that helps us connect to this often challenging to feel group of muscles. We will practice breathing exercises to sense and feel the movement of the pelvic floor as part of a system when we breathe, as well as dynamic pelvic floor exercises using the Franklin Method balls. You will leave the workshop feeling refreshed and excited about training the pelvic floor functionally.
