Freeing the Voice:

All expressive and healing arts utilize the voice in some manner. To find our voice through song and prayer is a heroic journey and healing act for the entire world, as it takes courage and vulnerability. It is said that singing predates human language or we could say singing is the first language. All of us have a unique voice and a way to share and express it that can be transformative for ourselves and others. People often feel they lack the ability to sing because they compare themselves to pop musicians but what makes the voice transcend entertainment and create healing is connecting to our raw, unique, and authentic vibration. In this workshop we will guide participants on how to use the medicine of their voice through singing, chanting, mantra, icaros, toning, overtone vocalizations, and other vocal techniques, with and without instrumental accompaniment.

Throat Singing Offering:

This two-hour class on Tuvan throat singing will be an opportunity to learn five different styles of overtone singing that first originated in Central Asia. Several styles can be learned quite quickly while others are more complex and require deeper study. This class is great for singers of all levels from absolute beginners to professionals.

Tuvan overtone singing is an entirely unique category in its technique regardless of one’s singing experience. This will be an experiential based class where participants will be guided through different exercises and vocal expressions in generating the five styles of singing listed below. Everyone who attends this class will experience a powerful and deep activation of their voice, natural vibratory resonance, capacity for creativity, healing, and self-expression."

This will be a ceremonial invocation to the 4 directions and 4 elements. Participants will be led into a guided meditation of intentional prayer where they will lie down and receive the healing vibrations and songs of world indigenous music and instruments for around 2 hours. This is a participatory prayer and meditation for individual and collective healing & peace.

Floating Sound Healing on Keelan Pond

Join us for one of OM's most popular experiences—Floating Sound Healing on beautiful Keelan Pond.
Wear a bathing suit and water shoes (such as Tevas or river shoes), and come ready for sunshine, relaxation, and the healing vibrations of sound as you float peacefully on the water. Please note this is about a 5-10 min walk from the Inn. It is a bit challenging to get in and out of the pond. We will try to have volunteers assisting people getting in and out of the pond.
Please check in at the Front Desk upon arrival to sign up, as space is limited.

The Keelan House Pond, located next to the Inn at the former Keelan House property, sits at the base of the West Mountain Inn on the Battenkill River side. It is within walking distance for all attendees staying at the Inn.
